Little L has been able to say the word hot for awhile now. Today I made her 3 chicken nuggets for lunch. When they were done I cut them in half to cool  and poured her some juice. We went into the living room to eat, she touched one and said “hot”.  “They’re not hot, see.” I touched one. She touched it again and said “hot”.  “No its not, now eat.” “Hot!” she says. Over and over and over. Oldest came out if her room and I asked her to show L that it wasn’t hot. She picked up one and smiled and said “Hot”. Alrighty then…2 against 1. This went on for another 5 minutes or so. Finally,  L picked one up and ate it. “See, it’s not hot, it’s good.”  I should not have said that. She touches another one then says hot again. Sometimes you have to just give up and walk away. That is just what I did. And ya know, it worked. She went on to eat the rest of the chicken (all but one piece that she threw at her sister) without me fussing and begging her to do it. 🙂

  1. Isn’t it funny how we can’t wait for them to speak and then we spend the next 17 or so years we want them to just be quiet?
