Mommy Time

The kids have been getting some use out of their pool the past few days, since the temps have shot up to around 100 degrees here. I have been letting them go out around 4:30 and they are usually out for about an hour. During this time, I do not go out with them, since daddy is out in the garage right next to them. After I get Little L ready and both out the door, I get to take a breath, take in the moment of silence then start on making dinner.

This evening, hubby comes to the door and tells me to bring the towels. When I get to the door, he has went back to the garage. I holler for Oldest to come get the towels. He says why don’t I come out and bring them. I tell him no that dinner is on the stove. He gives me this look like I can’t spend time with them. I spend all day with them and although I love them dearly, I need that hour of peace to do what I  need to do. Since L has given up nap time, there is no quiet time for mommy anymore.

I think he is the one that needs to spend more time with them. I am the one that takes them shopping with me and that is a stressfull adventure most times. I am the one in the house with them, helping with school work, doing house work, changing diapers and cleaning up messes.

He often says that I am crazy,. I am sure if he did this all day, everyday, he would be too.  πŸ™‚

There is nothing like sitting beside your toddler while she is eating her home made biscuits and gravy, that you got up out of your comfy bed, to make for your loving family on a Sunday morning. Watching her take a huge bite then sneeze it all over you.
I have chewed up biscuit in my hair. Excuse me while I go tidy myself up.

Candy on the Floor

candy

Today, while waiting on hubby in the auto parts store, Little L spied the candy machine. One had skittles and the other gum. I looked for a quarter in my purse, but didn’t have one. I told her this and the guy that was waiting on hubby slid a quarter across the counter. I said thanks and went to the candy machine. The skittles rolled out of the slot so fast that I dropped 4 of them. I told Oldest to pick them up, but before anyone could move, L had scooped 2 of them up and popped them into her mouth. Hubby and I just shook our heads and he told the guy behind the counter, that she would eat anything off the floor. He laughed and said, “Good thing I just swept over there.”

When it comes to candy, I don’t think it would have mattered! πŸ˜‰

th

I was so hungry driving back across town yesterday. I was coming up on to a stop light and out of the corner of my eye I seen a sign with a big D on it. My tummy rumbled at that exact time and all I could think of was mmm…donuts. When I got closer to the sign it read Dentist. What a let down! But I guess if you eat too many donuts you just may need that dentist. πŸ˜‰

The cashier at the grocery store was talking to me about Little L. She made the comment that L had a lot of energy and she must keep us busy. I said she was definitely a handful. Then she asked if she my daughter. “Yes, they are both mine,” I stated. “Oh, she said. “I thought maybe the little one was your granddaughter.”

Wow! Feeling way old now. Thanks lady!

fight

Never say yes when a 2 year old asks if you wanna fight. Why? Because they are short and will kick you in the shin over and over!

True story, happened today!

Happy March! πŸ™‚

Playing hide and seek with the girls earlier.

Little L: Mommy you count, me and sissy go hide.

Me: OK, 1…2…3…*hears the sound of little feet running through the house*

Me: 8…9…10…Ready or not here I come.

Me: “Where could they have gone, they aren’t in sissy’s room.” *looks in room* “They aren’t in the bathroom. *pretends to open door* “hum, wonder where they are.” *Looks in grandma’s room* “Could they be in here?”

Little L: “NO!”

Me: holding back laughing. “Your not in here?”

L: “NO”

Me: “Are you sure?”

L: “Yes”

Me: “Well, alright, I will check somewhere else.”

The fun of a two year old!Β  πŸ™‚

NO NO NO

Posted: February 16, 2016 in blog, funny, kids, toddlers, Uncategorized

Earlier today I had a soda sitting on the sink. I had it pushed back, but I forget that Little L is getting taller and taller. She spied the cup and ran over to it and started to reach for it. I am across the room and all I can get out is “NO NO NO NO NO” as I am walking to get it. It feels like I am moving in slow motion and I can visualize her grabbing it and dumping it all over herself and the floor.

Her little hands were almost around it when I finally reached her and scooped it out of her grasp. I said to her, “Didn’t you hear me?”Β  She said “Yes, you said No no no no no!”

Oh grand, another smart ass I am raising. πŸ™‚

Today, Little L woke up with smiles on her face. Yeah! It is a good morning, or so I thought. She didn’t order me to get her anything to eat or drink right away which is also a good thing. I hate being yelled at first thing. Oldest put in an order for pancakes for breakfast. I asked hubby if that was alright. He likes his big breakfasts and sometimes pancakes is not on the menu. But he said that it was fine. I went in the kitchen, then realized my mixing bowl was dirty. That’s ok, I will just wash it. Little L walks up and spies a lollipop holder that has been lying on the back of the counter since Christmas. I do not know why it was still there but it was. She wanted it. She started the whine and so without thinking I gave it too her. She put it in her mouth, and realized there was no lollipop left. She asked me and I said, sorry you ate it. Then I asked Oldest if she had eaten hers, cause I never seen her with it. She goes into her room and brings a half sucked on lolli wrapped up in the wrapper. She goes to give it to her sister, when my brain finally kicked in and said “Whoa, isn’t that from when you two were sick?”Β  Oldest stopped and thought. “Yes, it is,” she said. “Well crap, alright throw it away then,” I told her. Little L didn’t understand what was going on. She grabbed the one that she was playing with and popped it into her mouth. I told her that there wasn’t any sucker on it so it was no good. She didn’t believe me. I waited till she was distracted with her cartoon, then I got it out of her mouth and went to the sink. At first I thought I would just wash it and as I was running the water to make it super hot, I said, “Lesa you are a big dummy!” I turned around and tossed it into the trash. L realized it was gone and came looking for it. I told her it was gone. She started to cry. I told her I would buy her a new one next trip to the store. She stopped crying and said Ok. A second later, she ordered me to go to the store.

Then my worry/paranoia mode kicked in. What if she gets sick from having it in her mouth?Β  What did I just do? I said over and over. Why was that still lying back there? Cause you are a lazy bum that never throws anything away, that’s why!Β

I then thought, I will give her her vitamin. It should help right. She gladly took it, then asked for gummy bears. I gave her a few, trying to make it up to her.Β  I made the pancakes, which L was saying she didn’t want, until she seen the chocolate syrup on her plate. I didn’t give her much, but it did take her mind off of that damn sucker thingy. πŸ™‚
