I’m in a Movie

Think I just seen myself in a horror movie. Outcome was not good. Girl was trying to fight off monster, girl shoots self in foot. Makes her way into a bathroom, shuts door. Breaks tiny window above sink, to escape. Cuts hand on broken glass while trying to climb out. Gets out but then gets pant leg caught on inside of window. Hangs upside down outside of window, squirming to break free. Monster stabs her through wall.

Yep, that would definitely be me. 😉

You are finally asleep. It has been one heck of an evening. The day wasn’t that bad. We ran a few errands early, and you did really well. Even though you had dried yogurt in your hair from breakfast. You went down for your afternoon nap with nary a problem.  We got to go outside and spend some time with daddy, while he finished a job he was doing. We came in at 5 to make dinner, you didn’t eat alot of it. But you made sure to pour out half your sippy cup of milk all over your part of the table.

After your bath, you were playing with your blocks and decided to throw them. You have a pretty good arm because the second one you threw hit me on top of the head. I cussed cried a little because it really hurt. Then when I thought we had made up you tried to do it again. And let’s not forget the bag of cheeto crumbs you then decided to grab off the counter and dump all over the floor. After cleaning that mess up, it was getting late so I took you in to get ready for bed.  You would not let me brush your teeth and I had to wait for daddy to come in to get that done.

While we were waiting, we were snuggled on the bed watching a movie. You got down and found your little car I got you today at the store.  Once again you clobbered me on top of the head. This time I yelled and you about tripped over yourself running from me. I took your toy away from you although I will break weak tomorrow and give it back.

Daddy came in and we got your teeth brushed then sissy played baby dolls with you. You two were so cute covering the doll up and kissing her good night.

I finally got you to myself again, you fell asleep beside me in only a few minutes. Hopefully it will be a peaceful night for all of us. Hopefully…  🙂

My Oldest is obsessed with makeup. OBSESSED I say! She says she wants to go to beauty school when she gets old enough. I don’t see anything wrong with it. I tell her maybe she could become a makeup artist to the stars. She liked that idea.

But the one thing that drives me absolutely nuts with her is that she is constantly talking about eyebrows. Her eyebrows, my eyebrows, her dad’s eyebrows. She has watched too many makeup tutorials on Youtube with all these girls saying you have to have weirdly thick looking eyebrows. Atleast they look weird to me. She is all the time making hers look super thick.

Me: What’s up with your eyebrows?

Oldest: Nothing.

Me: They look weird, they are all dark.

Oldest: They are always like that.

Me: No they are not. Go wash it off.

*She slowly slinks to the bathroom.*

She loves to do the makeup challenges and post them on her Youtube account. I have even let her do some to me. My favorite was the blind makeup challenge. You blindfold yourself then try to make the other victim person look pretty. Then there was the one that you had to make your self look bad. She must have had on a pound of makeup, so I think she succeeded.

eyebrows 3I never liked makeup myself. I tried to wear it, but I just didn’t feel like me. I always felt like a clown when I did.

So these are for you, my girl, who thinks she needs makeup to be beautiful. (I thought they were hilarious, hope you do too.)

Tonight Oldest talked daddy and I into letting her watch a scary movie. The Woman in Black 2. We watched it just a couple of nights ago, actually, my hubby watched it, I was in and out. Had my head in my tablet a little too much. I did not think it was that scary, so I said it was ok with me. He got it running and soon the spookieness began. Oldest wanted to sit by me, but Little L was still up and had other plans for sissy. They sat on the couch together for a bit, then it was time for her to go to bed. Daddy and I  took her in to get teeth brushed and diaper changed. He shut the bedroom door so L wouldn’t run out. As soon as the door went to, I heard feet hit the floor. Oldest had ran to her room. Guess we have good timing on leaving her alone in a dark room with a spooky movie on. Daddy went out first then I heard oldest tell him that it was so scary she started shaking. Funny girl, and she kept watching. When I came out after L was asleep, she wanted me to sit beside her. There were a few more jumpy moments left. I kept telling her to stop watching. She didn’t.  The very last seen, I won’t say what happened, just in case you want to watch it, I told her not to look. The last scene always sticks in your mind. You know what she did, she watched it! Silly, silly girl. Then, when it was done, she was like, “can I sleep in your room tonight?” Daddy said no. I told her it would be ok, it was just a movie. “You don’t understand,” she said. Then asked me to walk her to the bathroom so she could brush her teeth.  I did, we laughed the whole time, about being scared and when we were getting ready to leave the room, there was a noise outside. We both looked at each other and scrambled out of the room together.

She went on to bed, I told her she could leave the t.v. on and she wanted me to leave the light on too. I did, but when daddy went in, he turned it off. It’s still off too. Hopefully she will fall asleep and think nothing of it through the night. I really don’t want to wake up in the middle of the night and trip over her on my way to the bathroom.

Be brave my little one, be brave. 🙂

Words Hurt

Today, Oldest got her feelings hurt. Not from a friend or even a stranger. She got them hurt from her own Grandmother.

Oldest came up with a game, where she wanted to pretend that she was a baby. I think alot of it comes from Little L and that she gets the majority of the attention. Well, I guess she does, since she is a baby and needs to be watched and taken care of. Oldest gets lonely although we tell her to come out of her cave and spend time with us. So today, she wanted to be the baby like Little L. I made them lunch they sat on the floor and ate. Oldest walked around on her knees and so did Little L. It was really cute. L tries to copy her big sis soooooo much! When it came to nap time, Oldest wanted to go in with us and take a nap. She never naps during the day. I didn’t think it was going to work, but she actually slept longer then L did. Surprised me! After they got up, we were talking and she said that she wanted to do one more thing, before the game was over. She wanted me to give her a bottle of milk. I laughed, thinking this girl is cray cray, but she begged and although I thought it was a bit odd, I played along. I came in and got both she and L a bottle, gave one to L and the other one to Oldest. She leaned up against me like L does and started to drink. We both laughed. It was strange but silly. She finally drank it, L beat her though, and we laughed some more. They started playing so I snuck off to her room to check on her school work and make sure everything was done and what not. I then heard Oldest go into her grandmas room, and she began to tell her about the game. I heard her say that I fed her a bottle of milk. My mom, didn’t think it was very funny apparently, told my girl that we were stupid and that she didn’t want to hear about it. Then she asked where I was. Oldest told her that I was in her room. I heard her go back down the hallway and my heart ached. I just wanted to scream. Then my dear ole mum kept saying how stupid we were being. She just kept saying that word stupid over and over. More times then I want to recount. I had to bite my tongue, deep down I wanted to go let her have it. The way I play with my kids is NO ones business but mine. I just sat on the bed, hurt, by the words she was choosing to say. Why did she keep saying that word?

She finally stopped and I was done with what I wanted to do. I walked out of the room and headed down the hallway.  I came in and started watching cartoons with the girls. Oldest was laying on the bed covered up, like she was hiding. The cartoon went off and she moved closer to me. “I’m sorry,” she said. “For what?” “For making you play that stupid game.” There was that word again. “It’s ok, I heard what she said, don’t worry about it.” “You’re not stupid!” I told her. That was it, and we didn’t talk about it anymore.

My mom sometimes talks about how her mom always said hurtful things to her when she was growing up. My grandma died when I was 12, there are only a few memories that I have that I can remember her being mean. She had a bite to her words. I let this time go. I wish I hadn’t. I would never tell a kid that they are stupid. But next time, I may not be so nice. I only hope that there won’t be a next time.

You go to put a little salt on your scrambled eggs and you get half the container instead.

If you have been keeping up with my blog, I wrote a couple of weeks ago about oldest going to the library all by herself. Yesterday, she got to do another solo trip for a couple of hours while I ran a some errands for hubby. Before we went, she got the library card out of my wallet. Then she proceeded to tell me about the last time and how many times she checked for the library card in the purse she was carrying. She checked it before she left the car, once she got inside the building, while she was looking for her first book to look at, and a few more times. I thought this was hilarious. I was laughing so hard, tears were coming out!  She was so paranoid that she was going to loose it, probably because I kept telling her “don’t loose the card.”

While she was there, she told me about a couple of things that happened to her, so I just wanted to share her adventures with you.

She had a piece of hard candy, in her mouth. This little girl came up to her and asked, “What you have in your mouth?” Oldest responds, “A piece of candy.” “Can I have some?” the little girl asked, while holding out her hand way up at her mouth. Oldest thought she actually wanted the piece that was in her mouth, the way she was staring at her. She then told her, “this was my only piece, sorry.” She said the little girl put her hand down and walked away, looking pretty sad.

The other thing that happened, is that she was wearing her flip flops. She said she was walking down the aisle, in the kids section, and her shoe folded up underneath her toes and she face planted right onto the floor. She then said there were little kids on both sides of her and they were just looking at her like, “Oh good, the giant has fallen, let’s tie her up.” She told me this and I about choked on my water. No lie, I can’t make this stuff up.

When I picked her up, she only had a couple of things. I asked her why, she said she had some CD’s and DVD’s she wanted, but they came up error when she tried to check them out. So she just cancelled out and put them back. For some odd reason, she decided to check her account online at 8:30 last night. Everyone of them that came up error are showing up that she checked them out. UGH!! Why, oh why didn’t she think to look when we got home? Why didn’t I think to check it out? She told me that she cancelled it out and she didn’t think anything went through. I got a teensy tiny bit angry upset with her and yelled no screamed, no talked to her and told her from now on, she can go up there, but she has to wait for me to get there before she checks ANYTHING out! Here I am, trying to give her these responsibilities, and I have to remember that she is still a kid. She still needs my help. Even though she may not think so. Even though sometimes I don’t think so. She does. This makes me feel good. My tweeny bopper is still a little girl, my little girl. 🙂

Now I have to wait til Tuesday, so I can run up there and hopefully get it fixed without too much hassle.

Letter to my baby, Little L.

Little L, you can be so sweet sometimes. You have the cutest little smile. You can give the most loveable kisses and precious hugs….and then wham…up side the head you will lay one on a poor unsuspecting person. You just did this to your sister yesterday. You two were playing together and all of a sudden you got in a lovey dovey mood. You kissed sissy on the cheek and we all said awww! Then you kissed her on her lip, another awww moment. Third kiss was on her chin. Sissy was sooooo happy that you were giving her all these kisses, then suddenly WHAM! You, my sweet little L smacked your sissy upside the head. Luckily missing her glasses in the process. Oldest didn’t know what to do, other then throw her hands up to protect herself. I yelled at my little monster girl to stop. You just turned around and gave me the most innocent smile and then laughed. I think you were even trying to roll your eyes at me.  Hubby says you are going to be the tom boy of the family. You, my sweet little L, are the rough and tumble girl. You will come at us full force at times. If the mood hits, it is like you are saying Game On!

Accomplishment…you know the feeling. The feeling of actually getting something done. Something that has been needing to be done, but you just can’t seem to bring yourself to do it.  Well folks, today was my day to finally accomplish…mopping my kitchen, dining area and living room.
You see, I have linoleum in the kitchen and dining area, and tile floor in the living room. Both are good size. The tile has been a life saver with miss messy pants and an overgrown pup for a dog. But mopping these areas are not done close together. Nope I wait and wait till I just can’t handle it anymore.

y u no mop

Why you ask? Well I will tell you…because I know, deep down, that as soon as I get done, something is going to be spilled, someone is gonna walk through with dirt on their shoes, and that overgrown pup of ours is going to drip water throughout the kitchen after he drinks half his bowl. So yes, I wait.

cleaning pointless

Last night, I was thinking about how nice it looks when it is all clean and shiny. No more dirt spots, no dried banana bits stuck to the floor, no more smear marks from kid or dog. Ahhhh….so nice. Then I stepped. And my foot stuck. What the what? Dear hubby gave miss messy pants a freezer pop earlier and she dripped it throughout the two rooms. I asked why didn’t you put her up in her chair. His answer, “she was having too much fun running the house.” I told him he was mopping the next time. 🙂
