Well hello there, long time no see. I know, I know, I have been MIA around here. I took a break from the blogging over summer to spend some time with the girls and quite frankly I just couldn’t make myself sit down to type. I had lots of crazy stuff to post, but the words just wasn’t there. So here I am a few months later, trying to get back into the swing of things.

Just some quick updates for this post: Oldest made it to her 5 Seconds of Summer concert on the 10th. She had a blast and I have to say that I did too. Just watching her was good enough for me. She had the biggest grin on her face the whole time and when those boys came out on stage, she didn’t stop once. I am glad that it is done…she was driving me crazy with the everyday countdown over the summer. “Mom, 45 days.” “Mom, 19 days.” “Mom, just 5 days.” All summer long. But it’s all good. She walked away with a concert t-shirt that cost $40. Yikes! and she got a poster of one of the opening bands.

Oldest is in her last year of middle school this year. School started back in August and she was ready to get back. Little L turned 3 in June. I made a The Good Dinosaur cake for her and had lots of decorations and presents. Took a ton a pictures and spent the rest of the month working on my scrapbooking.

Since fall has returned and we are very happy to have some cooler temps around here, I have gotten into my Halloween crafting. Oldest and I found out we both love Shrinky Dinks. I found some really cute ideas and we had to run to the craft store. After we made a ton, we were like, what should we do with them. So we opened our own store on Etsy to sell them for charm bracelets, magnets, and pins. It has been opened a little over a week I think. We haven’t made a sell as of yet, but I am hopeful. Here is the link if anyone wants to check them out. Tracystrinketshop

I am in the process of making some new ones and looking forward to making some ornaments out of them for Christmas. Hoping that you see something you like.

Well thanks for reading and I hope to be posting some more stuff soon.

We have taken a couple of days off from the potty training. On Tuesday I had to run up to Walmart so I decided to look for Little L some cute undies and get her more interested in this quest of a diaper free booty. When we got into the area, her sissy and I were showing her all the different pictures she could have, but she wasn’t interested. All she wanted to do was hide in the clothes racks and swing on the rails like a darn monkey. I let her be and picked out a pack of 5 to get started with.

We got home and she had to try on each pair and run through the house to show sissy and grandma. She was very proud of them and I told her to pick out one to wear. She had went to the potty earlier, so I wasn’t too worried about a mess. Boy was I wrong! She picked out one and went on to play. A little bit later, they were off. I told her she had to wear something. Then she came up to me holding a poop ball in her hand. I rushed her to the bathroom and got that taken care of. I told her she had to run to the potty when she felt like she had to go. She told me ok and wanted her undies back on. Awhile went by and then she was squatted down in between the coffee table and the couch. I asked her is she was ok, she said yes. I asked what she was doing, she said nothing. I said are you sure? She again reaffirmed with a yes. Then she stood up and said she pooped in her undies. Oh Lord, help me. I took her to the bathroom, got them off and flushed the ball away and got her cleaned up and slapped her diaper back on her behind. I was done. How can something so small poop so much?

Don’t you just love potty training?!!!  🙂

Another Crap Toy

One of the presents I got for Oldest for Christmas was a Minecraft Lego set. Oldest loves her some Minecraft and I thought it was a great gift. About a week after I threw out the receipt, she informs me that the set was missing pieces. She said she counted them and there were several missing including the feet to the two creepers that came with it. I had her put it aside so I could remember to take it back to the store to get another one.

We finally made it out of the house yesterday, with it in tow. We get to the customer service area and the lady said they the store was getting strict about returning lego sets for money. Apparently people were trying to return sets that were 60 dollars or more. I thought this was rather funny and wondered how the heck were they getting them out of the store? I mean, the expensive sets are pretty big boxes. This one was under 20 and a pretty small box, but I know I didn’t steal it. She asked a manager if she could return it and she said I could exchange it out for another item for the same price or more. That was fine, Oldest was wanting to get something anyways. Over to the toy section we headed. She looked at the Lego sets, they had the one we just returned, but then she headed down another isle. I caught up with her  and she was looking at one of those big guns that shoot darts. It was the same price but it was so big, compared to the little Lego set. She wanted it so I gave in and let her get it. We headed back to the return desk and I asked the lady if it was alright and she said yes it was fine.

When we got home, she and her dad went to prying it out of the box and he helped her put the darts in and he went to shoot it and it jammed right off. He messed with it for a bit and got it to work. Then it jammed again. Once more he had to fix it and it worked. But every time Oldest tried to shoot it, it would jam. Another crap toy. Oldest was bummed and left it lying on the table. I told her we could return it, just not today.

I had been putting off going grocery shopping this month. I usually make it out on the first of the month to stock up, but this month I just didn’t feel like it. It was a Monday for Pete sakes, and cold out.  I figured we would make it some day this week, probably on Wednesday. Well, Wednesday came and I had plans for all of us to load up and go, but hubby had some things he had ordered off E-Bay out for delivery. Our mail lady runs when she wants to run, there is no set time with her. And if you have a package being delivered, you better just cancel all plans and stay home, because there are some people that walk the neighborhood looking to see if you have anything that they can take. A nice pretty big brown box is just asking for trouble around here. So we decided to go after she ran, if she made it through early. 2 p.m. she made it down our street and hubby got his packages. By then I didn’t really want to go. Little L had been really really bad the last time we went so late in the afternoon. I told hubby I could make soup and sandwiches for dinner and we would just go in the morning.

We got up with full intentions of heading out around noon. But Little L had other plans. She was in a very bossy, whiney mood as soon as she woke up. She started demanding that I get up and get her paci and Carry (her stuffed toy) then she wanted cartoons on and of course she wanted one that wasn’t on that early. Luckily Sheriff Calli was on and she got interested in it. Then we made our way out of bedroom and she goes into screaming “Nack, me want nack” Which in 2 year old talk is snacks, meaning fruit snacks. She loves the damn things and I, like a big dummy, buy them for her. But I don’t give them to her so early in the morning. Daddy poured her a bowl of cereal with no milk so she didn’t really eat it like she does with me. I made pancakes for breakfast, which she kept saying, “Me don’t want pancake!” over and over. But she ended up eating the whole thing. In the meantime, all I could think of is I don’t want to take this kid to any store while she is acting like this. I told hubby and he agreed that just Oldest and I would go shopping when she got done with her school work.

It was nice with just us two. We made our way through the store in what seemed half the time and spent less money then I would have if hubby had went. So maybe she did me a favor by being so whiney. 🙂

Today started out like any other Sunday. The little tyrant girl of mine woke up bright and early at 7 a.m. demanding that I find her Carry. Which is the name of her stuffed toy she loves dearly. I finally find him, then she wants her paci. I felt around and couldn’t locate that darn thing, but luckily there was an extra one by the bed, so I gave that one too her. After all this, I had to get up and use the bathroom. When I came back, she wasn’t finished with her demands, requests,  this time it was milk. I made my way to the kitchen got her some milk and kept thinking I just want to go back to bed. I gave her her cup and she drank it down, then cuddled up beside me. Within 15 minutes she was back to sleep, took me just a tad bit longer, but I managed to do it. Around 8, I heard hubby talking to her. Crap, I don’t want to get up. So I laid there as quiet as a mouse, waiting to see what was going to happen. He got up and she went out into the living room with him. Ah, yes! Now this is what I am talking about, I thought. After all it is my Birthday! I dozed back off for about an hour. After that, I was awake and needed to get up to get everyone fed.

The day might have started out kind of slow, but it was rather nice. I took Oldest and my mom up to Old Navy. Oldest has been wanting some new clothes and we don’t usually shop in stores like that, but today, I made an exception. She got her a pair of jeans, 2 tees, and a flannel shirt. She doesn’t usually wear jeans, she has always said that they were uncomfortable, but she has been wanting a pair for awhile. And apparently the flannel is what is pretty popular with the teens these days. After that we headed to our usual hangout. I know that is sad, but Walmart is the one stop shop.

When we got home, we ordered out. Chinese food, YUM! Then afterwards, headed to 31 Flavors for my Birthday treat. I thought that would be better then a cake sitting in the house for a few days just begging me to eat it. A couple of scoops and I am done.

Last year I wrote a post Turning 43 Isn’t All That Bad. I read it over just now, and I want to remember and take in what I wrote. Age is just a number. But this year, it was a little harder to deal with. This year, I want to cry even though I won’t. I will save that for next year! 🙂

Friday was the start of Winter Break for Oldest. Winter Break? No thanks, I say it’s Christmas Break. Always has been and always will be. Even Clark W. Griswold made a movie about it…Christmas Vacation people! Anywho…Oldest got sick on her first day of Christmas break. It started out with her throat feeling funny but not sore this went on for a couple of days and by Friday morning, I could tell that she was getting sick. The weekend wasn’t too bad, but now it has turned into a cough and snotty/runny nose. I have been getting some medicine in her, made chicken noodle soup and some hot tea, which she still hasn’t touched. I tell her it will help her throat. She won’t even take a sip, says it’s yucky. I guess she would rather bark her head off and be grumpy all week.

With that going on, I did get all the presents wrapped and yesterday braved the supermarket and got all the food for Christmas. I was planning on cooking Christmas Eve and then have leftovers on Christmas day. Oldest reminded me that last year, hubby got a little miffed at me for making dinner a day early. After she brought it up, I remembered how he gave us the cold shoulder all evening, until we finally hashed it out after the kids were in bed and we were putting out the presents. He says he wants the big dinner on the day, not the day before. Men!

We were invited to go down to his cousins on Christmas Eve and go out to eat, then stay the night. It was very nice of them, but we had to decline. First, we do our own thing on both days, Second, I knew my mom wouldn’t go. Third, their house is big, but it is pretty full so it would be uncomfortable to stay the night and Fourth, I want to see my kids open all their gifts on Christmas morning, not later that day.

Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Thanks for reading! 🙂

Was it a smart idea for me to take my 2 year old with me to do some more Christmas shopping yesterday? No it wasn’t, but both girls wanted to go with my mom and I up to Walmart. I had to pick up a present for Oldest that I had ordered Friday night and it was already in the store. I just needed to drag my hiney up there and get it. I let on that it was for Little L, and told Oldest to keep her busy while I stood in line to get it. That worked pretty well, until Oldest wanted to see what I got her, then I had to tell her to keep out.

My mom wanted to look for Little L something else, of course, so in the toy section we were for a very long time. L was playing with everything she could get her hands on. She was good, so can’t complain. But a couple of things that we put in the cart, we had to take back out then put them in when she wasn’t looking.  I know she was eyeballing a Rubble from Paw Patrol that was on the belt when we were checking out. She was very tired by that time and didn’t ask for him, but I know she seen him.  Mom also wanted L to pick out a toy for Apollo the dog. She did. She picked out several toys. We put them all back besides one that L was not letting go of. I almost forgot to pay for it, she was holding on to it so tightly.

I have seemed to have miscalculated the gifts and have bought Little L half of what I have gotten Oldest. My mom said that that wasn’t right. I told her that L won’t remember her 2nd Christmas, but Oldest will. Plus, I think things that Oldest wanted was way cheaper then what they have out for the younger kids these days.

Thanks for reading! 🙂

I took Oldest to her back doctor today for her checkup. It was supposed to have been back in October, but by the time I called to make the appointment, the earliest was today. The doctor is only at this clinic on Wednesdays, so we had to wait.

After waiting for over an hour we had good news. He actually saw a slight bit of improvement on the x-rays. He was very happy and needless to say, I was too. He said that her spine will never fully straighten, but something is better then nothing. Her next checkup is in 6 months. What a relief!

After that, we headed up to Target to look around and pick up the Cyber Monday orders that I placed. Oldest picked out a couple of things to get her sister, but couldn’t find anything for anyone else. I told her that was ok, we had time. After that, we splurged on a pretzel and a drink at the cafe and came home. All in all it was a pretty good day! 🙂

I love Cyber Monday. It is like way intense sometimes. You sit at your computer wondering through page after page of toys and gifts and when you finally see the item you want all it is is a click on the button Add to cart.

That button and I have become friends today.

I never go out on Black Friday to shop. I am not a lunatic or someone that wants pepper sprayed in the face over a gaming system. I usually do most of my shopping online. Last year, I had started before Thanksgiving. I ordered a bunch from Walmart and picked it up the next day in the store. I think I even wrote a post about it too. This year I was feeling behind. I kept telling myself, “Self, you have time, don’t worry about it.” But then I started to feel a bit overwhelmed. I mean, people already have their tree and decorations up and they are finished shopping, “Did it all in one night” kept echoing in my head.  “What am I thinking,” I thought.  “I need to shop and I need to shop now!”  So I started browsing on the internet. I knew a couple of things that I wanted to get so that was easy. Just had to find who had it the cheapest. And funny thing is, Walmart is not the cheapest this year. I put a few things in the cart, but after it set for a day or two, things started going off. Out of stock. I really hate those words. My mom wanted to go shopping yesterday, so I took her out to Walmart and she picked up several things and I actually found 1 of the things I put in the cart for Oldest in the store. Score! Then last night I decided to check out Targets website. They had the one big thing that I want for Little L and at half price. Walmart didn’t have it in the store at all. Another score!

I waited patiently through the night, luckily The Walking Dead distracted me enough, for Cyber Monday to get here. Target had most everything an extra 15% off. Play all day Elmo was mine at a cool 31 dollars. Then I had to go run some errands with hubby and he stopped and got him and the kids a new pair of shoes. When we got home, back to Cyber Monday I went.

There were so many people on the the website that when I found something I liked, there was a popup that read, there is a line for this item, stay on the page and try putting it in your cart again. Game was on. I was trying to get something for Oldest, I must have pushed that button 10 times, before it finally went. Victory was mine. I got so excited I finished the transaction without even seeing if there was anything else I wanted to get. Ok, calm down Lesa, breathe. I went back in and started looking some more. Ah ha, Daniel Tiger, L loves her some Daniel Tiger. Then the dreaded there is a line for this item blah blah blah popped up. Oh no, I am getting this! I stayed right on that button and within 5 minutes it went. The next item went in right away. Alright, one more thing and I am done, I thought. This one was the test. It took 15 minutes and clicking that add to cart button I don’t know how many times, but I did it!

100 dollars later and a minimal amount of aggravation and a good bit of my shopping is done. Only one item has to be delivered and the rest I can pick up at the store. Yeah me! 🙂

Very Long Monday

Cold weather finally set in yesterday. It has been getting down into the 40’s at night, but warming up into the high 60’s ans 70’s once that sun comes out. But yesterday, it was cloudy and windy and then it rained and rained for a good part of the day and night. Today, it was still cold and windy and lots of dark clouds. With this “looks like snow weather”, Little L has gone total stir crazy. She has so much stored up energy, she doesn’t know what to do with it. She has resorted to climbing up on the back of the love seat, and then sliding down and bouncing. Scaring the life right out of me, everytime I see her do it. I have yelled, threatened, and even spanked her little tushy, but to no avail, she still continues to do it.

This morning, around 10ish, she decided to go into a chant about going to the park. I kept telling her no, not today, too cold out, maybe end of the week. She would not hear of it, and continue on her quest to take her to the park right that minute. Oldest was trying to do her school work and it was getting rather hard to concentrate through the screams. I finally got her to quit around noon, when I made her lunch. Then she wouldn’t go down for her nap, which isn’t unusual anymore. So around 3, my hubby needed me to run to the bank. I tried to get out of it and say I would go in the morning, but he needed me to go right then, was an emergency ya know. While I was getting dressed, L got all happy and said she was going, put on her shoes. I told her no, not today. She cried, begged, whined and pleaded to go. Finally hubby said, get her dressed he would go too. I just love family outings…

Since we were out and I hadn’t bought my turkey for Thanksgiving yet, I had him stop by the little Walmart on the way home. Just the girls and I went in. At first, L was doing just fine, the store wasn’t that crowded and she was running around looking at stuff, then she wanted to push the cart. Which wouldn’t be a problem if she would let either Oldest or I help. Every time we touched the cart, she would yell and everything would stop. I was getting tired and very impatient. I only had a couple of things I wanted to get for next week and I was not making any progress. After more threats, begging and pleading on my part, she got up into the cart and I grabbed a couple of things on my list and we hit the checkout. She kept asking me for goldfish, (cause the last time I bribed her into the cart with a bag of goldfish.) I didn’t see any close by, so I got her a bag of cheetos at the checkout stand.

In a couple of days, the weather is supposed to warm back up and I promised I would take her to the park as soon as it did. Another hour and she should be asleep and I can maybe have a couple of hours of quiet before hitting the hay myself. It has been a very long Monday!
