It is all ready the 6th of April and I haven’t done a single post. Been busy here and there and honestly, just haven’t felt good. Sunday and Monday were the worst. I think I have a stomach bug or something in that nature. Today it is feeling better and I hope going away.

Oldest is on her second day of state required testing for school. Luckily, we are at the same location as last year. I am sitting outside, at the bottom of the parking lot under the only tree that is giving off enough shade to be comfortable. Very happy that we got morning testing this year. It’s going to be in the high 90’s today. Last year we had afternoon testing but I don’t remember it being this hot this soon.

We bought Little L her very own potty chair last week. Several months ago, we ended up with a potty seat that you have to put on the toilet and pick them up to sit on it. I didn’t want the seat, but other people know more then I, and that is what we got. Which would have been just fine if you didn’t have a back that doesn’t like to work first thing in the mornings. So it didn’t get used that much as time went on. But the chair is working out great. She doesn’t remember all the time, but she will get it eventually.

One more hour to go…

I was so hungry driving back across town yesterday. I was coming up on to a stop light and out of the corner of my eye I seen a sign with a big D on it. My tummy rumbled at that exact time and all I could think of was mmm…donuts. When I got closer to the sign it read Dentist. What a let down! But I guess if you eat too many donuts you just may need that dentist. πŸ˜‰

Today, Little L woke up with smiles on her face. Yeah! It is a good morning, or so I thought. She didn’t order me to get her anything to eat or drink right away which is also a good thing. I hate being yelled at first thing. Oldest put in an order for pancakes for breakfast. I asked hubby if that was alright. He likes his big breakfasts and sometimes pancakes is not on the menu. But he said that it was fine. I went in the kitchen, then realized my mixing bowl was dirty. That’s ok, I will just wash it. Little L walks up and spies a lollipop holder that has been lying on the back of the counter since Christmas. I do not know why it was still there but it was. She wanted it. She started the whine and so without thinking I gave it too her. She put it in her mouth, and realized there was no lollipop left. She asked me and I said, sorry you ate it. Then I asked Oldest if she had eaten hers, cause I never seen her with it. She goes into her room and brings a half sucked on lolli wrapped up in the wrapper. She goes to give it to her sister, when my brain finally kicked in and said “Whoa, isn’t that from when you two were sick?”Β  Oldest stopped and thought. “Yes, it is,” she said. “Well crap, alright throw it away then,” I told her. Little L didn’t understand what was going on. She grabbed the one that she was playing with and popped it into her mouth. I told her that there wasn’t any sucker on it so it was no good. She didn’t believe me. I waited till she was distracted with her cartoon, then I got it out of her mouth and went to the sink. At first I thought I would just wash it and as I was running the water to make it super hot, I said, “Lesa you are a big dummy!” I turned around and tossed it into the trash. L realized it was gone and came looking for it. I told her it was gone. She started to cry. I told her I would buy her a new one next trip to the store. She stopped crying and said Ok. A second later, she ordered me to go to the store.

Then my worry/paranoia mode kicked in. What if she gets sick from having it in her mouth?Β  What did I just do? I said over and over. Why was that still lying back there? Cause you are a lazy bum that never throws anything away, that’s why!Β

I then thought, I will give her her vitamin. It should help right. She gladly took it, then asked for gummy bears. I gave her a few, trying to make it up to her.Β  I made the pancakes, which L was saying she didn’t want, until she seen the chocolate syrup on her plate. I didn’t give her much, but it did take her mind off of that damn sucker thingy. πŸ™‚

App?

The other day Oldest and I were listening to the radio in the car. The DJ came on in between songs and informed the listening audience that Taylor Swift was going to come out with her own app. She then said that she was probably not going to be getting it because it will be pricey.

I looked at Oldest and said “Now what in the world kind of app would Taylor Swift make?” Oldest came back with, “I don’t know, maybe one about how to write a break up song about every boy you ever dated?”

Good one kid, good one!

You can read the article here if you are a Taylor Swift fan, or you just want to be nosy like me!

Today started out like any other Sunday. The little tyrant girl of mine woke up bright and early at 7 a.m. demanding that I find her Carry. Which is the name of her stuffed toy she loves dearly. I finally find him, then she wants her paci. I felt around and couldn’t locate that darn thing, but luckily there was an extra one by the bed, so I gave that one too her. After all this, I had to get up and use the bathroom. When I came back, she wasn’t finished with her demands, requests,Β  this time it was milk. I made my way to the kitchen got her some milk and kept thinking I just want to go back to bed. I gave her her cup and she drank it down, then cuddled up beside me. Within 15 minutes she was back to sleep, took me just a tad bit longer, but I managed to do it. Around 8, I heard hubby talking to her. Crap, I don’t want to get up. So I laid there as quiet as a mouse, waiting to see what was going to happen. He got up and she went out into the living room with him. Ah, yes! Now this is what I am talking about, I thought. After all it is my Birthday! I dozed back off for about an hour. After that, I was awake and needed to get up to get everyone fed.

The day might have started out kind of slow, but it was rather nice. I took Oldest and my mom up to Old Navy. Oldest has been wanting some new clothes and we don’t usually shop in stores like that, but today, I made an exception. She got her a pair of jeans, 2 tees, and a flannel shirt. She doesn’t usually wear jeans, she has always said that they were uncomfortable, but she has been wanting a pair for awhile. And apparently the flannel is what is pretty popular with the teens these days. After that we headed to our usual hangout. I know that is sad, but Walmart is the one stop shop.

When we got home, we ordered out. Chinese food, YUM! Then afterwards, headed to 31 Flavors for my Birthday treat. I thought that would be better then a cake sitting in the house for a few days just begging me to eat it. A couple of scoops and I am done.

Last year I wrote a post Turning 43 Isn’t All That Bad. I read it over just now, and I want to remember and take in what I wrote. Age is just a number. But this year, it was a little harder to deal with. This year, I want to cry even though I won’t. I will save that for next year! πŸ™‚

This is the second full day of my road to lose some weight before spring time rolls around again. I would like to drop 20. I know I can do it, but getting my mind set on it has been a task. I lost 15 about a year and a half ago. I was so proud. I know I could have lost more, but I just stopped doing the workouts. They got boring. After Christmas, I felt as if I had put on some weight. I know I ate a lot. I finally got back on the scale, which I had stopped doing also, and seen that I put on 5 pounds. That is too much. I can’t afford expensive diet plans or gym memberships at this time, so I am going to get back to what I had done before.

The hardest part is not the sweets or junk food, but cutting out the soda. I love my soda. I only drink 2 cans a day. Which, isn’t much, compared to what I have heard people drink. I read somewhere that one lady drank up to 2-12 packs in a day.Β  Holey Crap! That I could never do. I like it, but I need my water. Which besides soda, is all I drink anyways. Hubby thinks I should just cut it out all together. I told him I can’t go cold turkey on it. I have to do it at my own pace. So today, I haven’t had one at all. I know I will before too long, but it is good that I can say it.

I know I can do this, and hopefully by spring, I will have gotten to my goal. Maybe this time, I won’t quit and I will keep going.

Kids can say some of the silliest things at times, we all know that. Through all the whining and crying and eating this week, Little L has said some pretty funny stuff. I need to write everything she says down, but when she says it, I think I will remember and well, then I don’t. But yesterday she outdid herself and I thought I would share a few with you.

“Come on buuuddy, Let’s dance!”Β  I don’t know if she has heard this one or she came up with it but it is really funny to hear it come out of her mouth. Especially when she stretches out the word buddy and she is wiggling her booty. When she first said it, she had her sis and I LOLing about it all day.

“Well well well, you have the bacon.”Β  She said this one last night over and over while her and sissy were playing. I guess she was wanting bacon and thought her sister had some. Anyways, it was one for the books, definitely.

Yesterday at lunch time, daddy was sitting on the couch eating. L was eating and watching a cartoon. He got done and as he was getting up, I sat down in his spot. Little L didn’t see this exchange. A few minutes later, she looked over at me and said, “Where daddy go?” “He went to the bathroom,” I told her. Then she scrunched up her little face and said, very disgustedly, “With him lunch!” Oldest was sitting on the other couch and we cracked up. “Oh no baby, he finished his lunch.” I said laughing. “Oh ok,” she said, and went right back to her cartoons.

Happy New Year to all my fellow bloggers and readers! I can’t believe it is already the third day into January and this is my first post of the New Year.Β  This year has actually started out slow. New Years Eve we watched some of the Rockin New Years Eve show on t.v. Oldest was only interested in a couple of bands that were playing, so we didn’t watch the whole thing. At midnight we watched the ball drop and we brought in the year with a kiss. About 15 minutes later, I pooped out and went to bed.

Oldest has been enjoying her late nights and sleeping in. She has stayed up well past 1 a.m.just about every night. But unfortunately they are coming to an end, back to school for her on Tuesday. Even though she gets to stay at home, she has a required 9 a.m. class that day for math that she has to set in on.

Oldest and Little L are both over that rotten cold she picked up before break started. We went up to the library on Thursday, the first trip out for Little L since before Christmas. Afterwards, I doused both their hands with antibacterial hand gel, before we left the parking lot. Then once we were home, I made them wash in warm soapy water. Just can’t take any chances.

Hubby has had me baking for the past two days. He wanted me to make the casserole dish I made for Christmas again and he also put in an order for home made coffee cake. I found an easy recipe through Pinterest and it turned out really well. So well that it is gone. He does like his food. I love to cook for him, but this month I am going to start back on working out. I would like to work on losing more weight before spring comes back around. It is not really a resolution, I never make them at the beginning of the new year, but it is something I am going to set my mind to and hopefully do it.

Here’s to a wonderful, exciting, and happy 2016!

Since Little L is feeling so much better now, I decided to get her and Oldest dressed in their Christmas outfits and take a few pictures of the girls in front of the tree, before it comes down this weekend. I got L cleaned up and while putting on her clothes, I told her I would give her a piece of candy if she would be good and take some pictures for me. She said she would and she did. We got several good shots of her and her sister. I didn’t push taking a lot on Christmas, other then them opening gifts, since she was so miserable. I don’t know where Oldest picked up that germ, but man, I wish she would have let it be.

After the photo shoot, and L got her candy, I had hubby bring in the Christmas crates and I started taking down the decorations. The tree is still up, but all the ornaments are packed away safe and sound for another year. I hated taking them off because it was definitely pretty this year. L was so good and left the ornaments alone. Not like last, when most of the pictures I took showed many bare areas of the tree. L helped take off some of the ornaments and only threw a fit when I packed up one little snowman that sits on the table. She barely played with it, but she couldn’t stand that I had put it away. So instead of leaving the Mickey and Rudolph ornaments out this year, I packed them up and left him out for her instead.

Wow, this month is just flying by. Can’t believe Christmas is right around the corner, gaining on me. I haven’t wrapped nary a present and the house is still a mess from putting out decorations. That is my plan this weekend, sweep, mop, and vacuum. Even though I expect no company, I do want it to look nice for Christmas morning pictures. Tonight after Little L drifts off to sleepy town, Oldest and I are going to start wrapping her presents. I think I got everything that my budget could afford and then some, because you always have to buy stocking stuffers, ya know. I took my mom up to Walmart to finish up her list yesterday, without the girls. While we were there, 2 packages finally arrived in the mail and I got an email saying that something I ordered for my mom was ready for pickup at the store we were in. So it all came together at one time.

Today I got the girls out of the house and went back to the library. Oldest went to look for some books while L and I went into the children’s play area. There was another mom with a little girl there and the lady said hi to L. L said hi back and then the lady started asking her how old she was and what was her name. I heard L tell her her name, but she didn’t know what to say about her age. I intervened with my protective mother voice, and said she was 2 1/2. “How old is yours?” I asked. “Oh she just turned 2 in September.” “Oh ok,” I said. Then she told L how much she liked her shirt and her boots. L just stood there, not really doing anything. Then she asked her if she liked to read. L shook her head yes, which isn’t true, but who cares. I was sensing stranger danger and just wanted the odd lady to leave. Then she went over and sat down on the floor and started reading not to her daughter, but to mine. I got up and walked over to them, and L got up and ran off to where her daughter was. The lady got up and was looking a little embarrassed and said that her daughter wasn’t really interested in reading yet. I said L was the same. The other little girl went over and was sitting in a chair and could tell that L just wanted her to play with her. She got up and L decided that she was going to sit in the chair and the girl walked back over and pushed L. I didn’t see the push but I seen L holding her arm and the girls mom telling her to apologize. They hugged and all was fine. Then the lady seen another woman that she apparently knew and went to talk with her. I told L to stay in the play area and she did. Soon they left and L was alone. I let her pick out a couple of books and we came on home.

I told Oldest we would go back over Christmas break and maybe there will be more kids for L to play with, and no strange mom’s hanging around. πŸ™‚
