It’s as much fun to scare as to be scared.

-Vincent Price

Last year I did a post about Movies that Creep Me Out. If you missed it, and like creepy, scary movies like me, you can get spooked here. Yesterday morning, I turned on the t.v. and since Little L had allready escaped the bedroom, instead of watching cartoons, I started flipping channels. I landed on FX and there was a movie…I went to turn the channel, when I noticed the little girl was up in the air, pulling on a blanket, all alone in her room and giggling. I had to stop to see what it was. Because you know kids alone in their rooms, giggling, floating in the air is not a good thing.ย  Then I remembered that I had seen this movie, but what was it called? It was past 8:30 and I really needed to be getting some breakfast going, but I didn’t want to walk away. After awhile and no help with telling me after the commercial break, (thanks FX), I remembered the name, Mama. It is a really good creepy movie about a ghost named Mama. It isn’t on Netflix anymore, that is where I had seen it a couple of years ago.

The next movie that came on, although I didn’t watch it, was The Purge. Now this is another not so favorite movies, but I have watched it a couple of times. I don’t like movies that seem real. I mean, what kind of town would let people go around one night killing who ever they want to kill and it be ok? I hope not any, but seriously, who comes up with this stuff?

I thought I would go over some pretty good scary movies that we have watched this year. We don’t do theaters, so most of them we watch on the internet at a free sight. There was Insidious 3, which I thought was definitely creepy at times. Sinister 2, I didn’t get to watch it all as of yet. My hubby watched it, and he said the first one was so much better, but it always is. The Visit was comedy is some parts, but creepy in others. While watching, there was one part where my daughter screamed out loud and then bit my hand that she was holding on to very tightly.ย  No Good Deed is a crime, horror, thriller type movie and worth checking out. Ouija is also a pretty good watch. I have never or will never own a Ouija board, but I don’t mind watching dumb asses play with them.

Some t.v. shows I got interested in were American Horror Story and The Walking Dead. I haven’t see the 4th season or the newest one yet of AHS, but we did a marathon of TWD the week of the season premier.

A few really bad horror movies that I felt like we wasted our time watching were The Gallows, Unfriended, and Paranormal Activity, the Ghost Dimension which was our latest one we sat through. It could have been a lot better, since the first 3 were good.

I am sure there are more movies to add to both lists, and I will think of them after I am finished with this post. If you have any to add, leave me a comment so I can check them out. This weekend our plans include, Hotel Transylvania 2, The Gift and the new Goosebumps movie to name a few. We want to get all spooked up for Trick or Treating.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

Never a Dull Moment

Little L definitely makes it pretty fun around here. They keep playing this commercial on one of the cartoon channels for a Disney Frozen toy music jewelry box. I am sure you all have seen it on t.v. some time. Anyways, whenever it plays I get the song, Do you want to build a snowman stuck in my head. When it is stuck in my head I have to sing it out loud. So the commercial was playing the other morning while I was making breakfast. Little L was running around not paying a bit of attention to what was on the tube. She was having fun in her own world. Oldest was sitting here in front of the computer doing her school work. After the commercial went off, I just couldn’t keep it in any longer and broke right out singing, “Do you want to build a snowman?” Little L comes running by at that time and says in her little singy voice, “NO.” and she just keeps on running. Oldest and I busted out into laughter. She had impeccable timing on her part. Then Oldest sings the line, “OK bye.” Which made us laugh even more.

So now, every time one of us sings that phrase to her, she says No since she got a big belly laugh from us. ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s a bit disturbing when you are woken up at 3 in the morning by your toddler saying “Dada wake.” “Momma wake.” Over and over in a voice that sounded a lot like Danny, the kid out of The Shining.

Although, I was scared out of my mind for a few seconds, I am thinking about getting her into acting.

I have never really been into the Star Wars trilogies. Oh don’t get me wrong, I have seen them, in the theatres, because my oldest brother was into them. But now that I am older, I don’t watch them and my kids have never watched them. That being said, Oldest and I were talking about the incident Saturday night with Little L going poo in the shower stall, and since it’s May 4th, I said it looked like a miniature Jabba the Hut. She looked at me and said “Who’s that?”

“You know, the ugly bad guy in Star Wars.” She said, “I only know R2D2 and he is a robot.” She knows more then that because her friend likes Star Wars and for Christmas she got him a Darth Vader pillow. I said, “You know Yoda.” She said she didn’t.ย  I went to my tablet and pulled up a pic of the little green fellow and she said, “Oh he’s the one that is looking for his precious.” “Wrong!” I tell her. She reaches for the tablet and I say the worst thing to her although in my defence, I was joking. “That’s a totally different movie, don’t be a dumb assssss”….Yes, that is what I said. To my kid that knows nothing of the movies. After realizing how bad it sounded as it escaped from my mouth, I just wanted to eat those words. Make them dissappear. If I could get my foot up there, I would have crammed it in. The poor, hurtful look in her eyes. I tried to say I was sorry. I told her I was kidding around. But it was not working. I felt horrible. But Oldest surprised me. She did storm off to her cave, but the next time I seen her she was o.k. Not mad at all. I am glad she can let stupid crap like that slide right off her.ย

She may make a pretty good Jedi yet. ๐Ÿ™‚

Giving Little L a bath.
She looks in the mirror…

L: Bye. Bye. *waves to her self*
L: Bye. *starts walking away*
L: Bye. *still waving and walking*
L: Ohhh.  *Sad face,  walks back to mirror*
*Gives herself a hug and a kiss*

Tooo darn cute, I have to admit!  ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m in a Movie

Think I just seen myself in a horror movie. Outcome was not good. Girl was trying to fight off monster, girl shoots self in foot. Makes her way into a bathroom, shuts door. Breaks tiny window above sink, to escape. Cuts hand on broken glass while trying to climb out. Gets out but then gets pant leg caught on inside of window. Hangs upside down outside of window, squirming to break free. Monster stabs her through wall.

Yep, that would definitely be me. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Tonight Oldest talked daddy and I into letting her watch a scary movie. The Woman in Black 2. We watched it just a couple of nights ago, actually, my hubby watched it, I was in and out. Had my head in my tablet a little too much. I did not think it was that scary, so I said it was ok with me. He got it running and soon the spookieness began. Oldest wanted to sit by me, but Little L was still up and had other plans for sissy. They sat on the couch together for a bit, then it was time for her to go to bed. Daddy and I  took her in to get teeth brushed and diaper changed. He shut the bedroom door so L wouldn’t run out. As soon as the door went to, I heard feet hit the floor. Oldest had ran to her room. Guess we have good timing on leaving her alone in a dark room with a spooky movie on. Daddy went out first then I heard oldest tell him that it was so scary she started shaking. Funny girl, and she kept watching. When I came out after L was asleep, she wanted me to sit beside her. There were a few more jumpy moments left. I kept telling her to stop watching. She didn’t.  The very last seen, I won’t say what happened, just in case you want to watch it, I told her not to look. The last scene always sticks in your mind. You know what she did, she watched it! Silly, silly girl. Then, when it was done, she was like, “can I sleep in your room tonight?” Daddy said no. I told her it would be ok, it was just a movie. “You donโ€™t understand,” she said. Then asked me to walk her to the bathroom so she could brush her teeth.  I did, we laughed the whole time, about being scared and when we were getting ready to leave the room, there was a noise outside. We both looked at each other and scrambled out of the room together.

She went on to bed, I told her she could leave the t.v. on and she wanted me to leave the light on too. I did, but when daddy went in, he turned it off. It’s still off too. Hopefully she will fall asleep and think nothing of it through the night. I really don’t want to wake up in the middle of the night and trip over her on my way to the bathroom.

Be brave my little one, be brave. ๐Ÿ™‚

How about them Vampire movies? Now I’m not talking about the one where they sparkle in the sun but the ones where they only come out at night. Those are the scary ones.

There are a lot of great Vampire movies out there. I think I watched about every one of them. My addiction did not start until one movie though.ย  I fell in love with Vampires when I was a teenager when The Lost Boys was released in 1987.ย  I actually got to see it in the theater, even though my mom didn’t like movies like that. The Lost Boys changed everything for me. From the moment it started the music just drew you in and I was hooked. Not to mention that the cast had some fine looking guys in it too. I mean look at Jason Patric and Kiefer Sutherland. Who didn’t want a bad boy dressed in black, ya know. As soon as the soundtrack was released, I had to have it and I still own it today. It has some great songs on it, like People are Strange from the Doors, and Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me written by Elton John. Good Times and Laying Down the Law both by INXS. and who can forget the theme song Cry Little Sister.

My oldest brother worked in a movie rental store and when this movie finally came out on VHS, I went to work with him one day just to watch it. We didn’t own a VHS player at the time.ย  (I know, that’s a bit ironic!) They also received the official movie poster for advertising the movie. When the poster came down, he brought it to me. It was the best ever. I stared at this poster for hours sometimes, while listening to the soundtrack. I told you I was hooked. And the coolest thing was Kiefer’s eyes followed you when you walked from one side of the room to the other! I wish I still had that poster. It was thrown out when I left home. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

So, if you haven’t ever, never watched this movie. this should definitely be on your must watch list before October ends. Ifย  you have seen it, what the hell, watch it again! ๐Ÿ˜‰
